There is no point heading to Port Harcourt if you don’t try these

I was in Port Harcourt just for a bit, I did not really get to explore as much as I would have loved to, however, here are a few things to do in Port Harcourt if you ever make the trip .

  1. Boli and Fish

I am no foodie but I like food, there is a difference between this two but explaining this would be some other time. Anyways, Boli and Fish is quite unique to Port Harcourt and if you would miss anything else, pls ensure you do not miss this. Do not be like me. I procrastinated on getting this and eventually left PH without trying this delicacy and this is why this tops the list of things to do in Port Harcourt. Touch down PH and all you should do is find a local joint, they are a lot of them or a seller by the road side you cannot just miss them and get you one.

  1. Eat Eat and Eat

I know I mentioned that I am not a foodie but if you are ever in PH especially if you are headed from Lagos, please ensure you eat all you can cos I am pretty sure you would miss it like I do :o. Restaurants in PH are ridiculously cheap. The most expensive meal I ate while there coasted my 2,200  Naira only, the portions were large and it tasted great. These were the Shrimp dishes i ate and I am not exaggerating, there was a shrimp in every spoon I ate. In Lagos, you would buy same for more and almost be able to count the number of shrimps in the dush. So ensure you feed well.

  1. Port Harcourt Pleasure Park

Looking for a place to have a family time or you would just want to spend the afternoon in a relaxed environment, then head out the Port Harcourt Park. I was surprised at the number of different activities here and the cost, trust me there is something for everyone.

When it comes to obstacles and physical core activities, I am always forming all you can do, get to the top kind of thing like I did while in Accra here but this one wore me out real fast real quick, but it was exciting all the same.

There are other activities like paint ball shooting, water rides, bouncing castle, 7D Cinema and a lot more for kids. The  Port harcourt pleasure park prices are pretty affordable. There is an entrance fee of 5oo and 350 Naira for Adult and Kids Respectively. Each activity attracts a different price. However there is a full package option for 3,200 and 2,600 for Adults and Kids respectively

  1. Take a drive down to

My friend had a bit of work to do in the oil refinery area of PH and I went along, I had only heard about the town — while studying Oil and Gas Law in school  but I was here life and direct. I didn’t get to go to the oil fields but from the drive through I could see signs of gas being flared in the sky. The activities of the multinationals are not exactly several miles offshore like I had always thought, some are dangerously close to communities inhabited by people and I could see first hand why there might be a lot of rancor.

  1. Watch a Movie, Maybe Two

If I am being honest, there is not a lot of things to do in Port Harcourt and please do not hesitate to correct me in the comment section of the other activities I could have been up to. Who knows, I just might head there again. However if you are keen on going out you could head to the Port Harcourt Mall, there is a Genesis Cinema there also if I am not mistaken, there is also a Film house somewhere not too far from there.

I hope you find this list of things to do Port Harcourt useful if you ever decide to spend head out there.

Abientot.
