I conquered my fears at the Legon Botanical Garden

Just so that we are clear, I have no fears. Zero Fears!File:icon razz.gif Legon Botanical Garden was a thrill though.

I must have seen pictures of the Legon Botanical Garden on Instagram or somewhere online. I really cannot remember. I knew immediately I did that I was definitely going to try it out on my next visit to Ghana and Yes I did. I am not scared of heights and always open to new challenges so I didn’t think twice when I signed up for a full high rope course for 40Cedis.

There is so much to do in there but all I did was the High rope course. There is an entrance fee of 10Cedi which is not much but I think is ridiculous. Why should I pay an entrance fee if I am going in to participate in one of the activities and of course got my ticket for this activity at the same spot. I honestly think this should only be for those accompanying others but before I digress, the high rope course was awesome and I recommend it as a part of your itinerary if heading to Ghana.

Although, I was up to the task, this doesn’t mean I didn’t have any difficulty. The are rescue guys there to help and put you through in case you have any hard time. At the zip line phase of my course, I got stuck because I had not exerted enough force to take me to the end of the line so I dangled in the air for a bit before being rescued.

My time at Legon Botanical Garden was fun, however,  if you are one of those who would usually be scared at the slightest obstacle and scream their lungs out. It would be best for you to stay on ground and cheer the other participants or better still be the last in line because the way the course is designed, if the person in front does not proceed others go no where.

There are several other activities that you can engage in, so If the high rope course is not meant for you, feel free to check out the Canopy Walkway, Junior Rope Course, Go Bird Watching or Fishing, Take a Bike or Canoe Ride.

O ye screamers! the High Rope Course is not for you, hearing petty screaming sounds just make my eyes roll involuntarily. eek Better go catch some fun doing some other activity or better still, do some bungee jumping on the play ground.
